When filter press works, the hold-down gear (piston rod or lead screw of oil cylinder) pushes the keep plate to press the filter plate and filter cloth between the keep plate and the thrust plate to form a plurality of closed filter chambers. The mud pump conveys the material to each filter chamber through the feed hole on the thrust plate. Due to the blocking of the filter cloth and the pressure generated by the mud pump, solid particles gradually accumulate to form a filter cake. The liquid passes through the filter cake and filter cloth and exits the body through the liquid outlet. The entire pressure filtration process can be regarded as the process of solid-liquid separation.
