The Basic Operating Principles of Filter Press
As a major component of a filter press, filter plates plays an important role in filtration process. The filter press cloth that attaches around filter press is mainly used for separating solid materials from wastewater. During filtration process, filter plates are tightly pressed, the space between each two filter plates is called “filter chamber”, where filter cakes are built up. The wastewater enters filter chambers through holes in the center of filter plates. Now, let us know about the operating principles of BBNEP filter press.
- Closing of all filter plates
When the filter press starts, the keep plate will push all filter press towards the tail of filter press. BBNEP filter press adopts automatic pressure maintaining, so as to efficiently prevent leakage of wastewater.
- Feeding wastewater and filtration
- The slurry pump will send suspension to filter chambers. The filter cloth will hold back solid materials and let liquid pass through the pores.
- Accumulated solid materials gradually become filer cakes. The filtrate rinse down on the nub surfaced filter plates into drilled channels and exits the filter press.
- Feeding techniques
ZJE slurry pump, B/G type single screw pump, gear oil pump, QBY pneumatic diaphragm pump and YB piston pump are used for feeding slurry. However, different filter press capacity and material property need different pumps. If you want to know specified pump and filter press, please contact us.
- Opening all filter plates
When filter cakes are built up and maximum feeding pressure is reached, the hydraulic unit will release the cylinder. Then, you can pull filter plates to discharge filter cakes.
- Next filtration cycle
After all filter cakes are released. The hydraulic cylinder will close all filter plates again. That is to say, the next filtration process starts.
